About

I've loved books as long as I can remember and I've been writing silly things (like notes, letters, diary entries, lame teen-angsty poems and a ga-gillion story ideas) since I learned to use a pencil.  I decided one fine summer day that maybe I should give one of my many story ideas a chance.  I wrote my first YA novel in 2007-2008 and have since added a picture book, screenplay for a short film, more YA novels, and a plethora of flash fiction (short stories).

For my writing background, I collected a few grad classes in Writing and Publishing at DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois, and took a screenwriting class at the UCLA Extension Writer's Program with the brilliant Patricia Verducci. From 2015-2019, I worked with Side Street Studio Arts in Elgin, Illinois to produce the Elgin Literary Festival, a yearly weekend event for readers and writers.

In 2017 I finished a Master's Degree in Library and Information Science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. I currently work as a German and sometimes-French teacher in the suburbs of Chicago.
